Preparations for the Honda Quest – True Adventure
Our Cape Town Correspondent, Angus, has been getting out and about on his Honda Africa Twin lately. He has been selected as a semi finalist to participate in the Honda Quest Boot Camp and hopes to be part of the group of just twenty riders who will be flown to Namibia in September where the participants will stand a chance of winning one of the specially prepared Africa Twins! Spending as much time as possible on his Africa Twin in the build up to the main event should stand him in good stead! Go Gus! Check out his short report on a recent foray into the Tankwa Karoo with some mates – more time on the bike honing up the skills is always a good thing!
“Did a strange thing yesterday … What most “bikers” do on a Sunday … meet at the Wimpy and go on a group ride! Destination – Bizaansgat then Tankwa Padstal.
It was something different and fun to hook up with other dudes. I had a hunch I would see one of the fellow CT Quest guys at the padstal as he was posting pics of the Tankwa Tented Camp … Sure as nuts the Bearded man was there … With his back wheel flat “nog al”…
We jumped to action and had him hitching a ride back to the wheeless bike in no time!
Did a more hardcore Dakar to Darling (brew) bush ride on Saturday with my team extreme boys. Practice makes perfect Boet! All in all a good weekend. This coming weekend we meet up with the Cape Quest bunch … At Darling (brew)”
Thanks for the report and pictures Gus – good luck with the next phase of your Honda Quest!
Keep the rubber side down!
