Quest – a long and arduous search for something, an expedition by a knight to carry out a specific task – so says the Oxford English Dictionary.
Our Cape Town Corespondent, Angus Welch, updates us on the Cape Town participants’ preparations for the Honda Quest Boot Camp which is coming up shortly.
“After some chit chat , better known as a Whatsapp group chat , the Cape Crew for the Quest Challenge decided to meet up and do a breakfast run. To the Barrel Pub it was then. Sadly it was closed until ten am so we just used the parking lot as the meeting place.
Everyone soon arrived and we said our hellos and then headed off on back roads to Philadelphia to the Peppertree Coffee Shop for a snack. The lads and one lady rider settled in nicely and we all speculated about what the up coming “Bootcamp” had in store for us… No one seemed sure about what lay ahead!
With the chatting and “kuiering” done we decided to go and play in the bush – go find some obstacles and sand… A great bunch of people enjoyed a wonderful time getting to grips with the nuances of sand riding and dealing with the various obstacles we encountered.
We ended off the ride at the Blue Peter in Bloubergstrand, covered in mud and all on a high! It was an honour to ride with these guys. Lets see what they have up their sleeve for next weekend…”
Thanks for the update Gus. It must have been a great time out on your bikes bonding with the group before the next stage of the Quest! We look forward to the next report from the Honda Knights of the Quest! Good luck!
Keep the rubber side down!
